Privacy Policy

LearnFI ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Who we are

LearnFI is a mobile application that teaches personal finance through lessons, quizzes, minigames, and an AI tutor. Operated by Ludovico Cruciotti.

Information we collect

1. Information you provide directly

  • Email address (when you sign up)
  • Display name (optional, in your profile)
  • Authentication credentials (password is hashed and never visible to us)
  • Quiz and questionnaire answers
  • Messages you send to FinAI (our AI tutor)
  • Feedback messages submitted through the in-app feedback form

2. Information generated through your use of the app

  • Lessons completed, quizzes taken, scores earned
  • XP, levels, rank, daily streaks
  • Daily activity (which days you used the app)
  • AI message count (for rate limiting on free accounts)
  • App version, device model, and operating system version (only included with feedback submissions)
  • User identifier (a UUID generated by our authentication system)

3. Payment information

  • Subscription status (active, cancelled, expired)
  • Plan type (monthly or annual)
  • Purchase date and renewal date

Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card information, debit card information, or billing address.

4. Information we do NOT collect

  • Phone number
  • Mailing address
  • Real legal name
  • Location (no GPS, no IP geolocation tracking)
  • Photos, contacts, calendar, or files
  • Microphone or camera access
  • Sensitive personal data (race, ethnicity, religion, health, sexual orientation, political opinions, biometric data)
  • Browsing history outside our app

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and operate the LearnFI app
  • Personalize your learning experience based on your skill level and goals
  • Track your progress, XP, levels, and achievements
  • Process AI tutor questions and return answers
  • Manage your subscription (free or Premium)
  • Send important account or service notifications
  • Improve the app based on usage patterns and feedback
  • Prevent abuse, fraud, and rate-limit violations

Third parties that receive your data

We share data with the following service providers, only as necessary to operate the app:

  • Supabase (supabase.com): Hosts our database and authentication system. All user data is stored on Supabase's infrastructure.
  • Anthropic (anthropic.com): Receives AI tutor messages to generate Claude AI responses. Anthropic does not use your messages to train their models.
  • RevenueCat (revenuecat.com): Manages subscription state. Receives your user ID and subscription status.
  • Apple (apple.com): Processes all payments through the App Store. We never see your card details.
  • Google (google.com): If you choose Sign in with Google, Google handles the authentication. We receive your email and name only.

We do NOT sell your data to advertisers or data brokers.
We do NOT use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
We do NOT track you across other apps or websites.

Data retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account from the app's Profile screen, all your data is permanently and immediately removed from our database, including:

  • Profile information
  • Lessons, quizzes, and progress
  • AI chat history
  • Subscription records
  • Feedback submissions
  • Authentication record

This deletion is irreversible.

Your rights

Under GDPR and similar privacy laws, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Object to processing
  • Data portability (request a copy of your data)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@learnfi.app or use the "Delete Account" feature in the app.

Children

LearnFI is intended for users 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Data security

We take security seriously. We use:

  • Row Level Security (RLS) on every database table to ensure users can only access their own data
  • TLS encryption for all data in transit
  • JWT-based authentication with auto-refreshing tokens
  • Server-side authorization checks on every API call
  • Hashed and salted passwords (managed by Supabase Auth)
  • No secrets stored in client-side code

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Significant changes will be communicated in-app.
